W12 – Integrating Tech in the Math Classroom

Technology provides dynamic opportunities for instruction in math and STEM classrooms. Technology allows teachers to provide students with engaging activities to bring the content to life. It takes away from constant worksheets and gives teachers and students an opportunity to expand the way they teach and learn.

The main way that I use technology in my classroom is through the use of math websites and applications. Some of the common applications that I use are Khan Academy, Desmos, Geogebra, Quizlet, Quizizz, and Kahoot. These applications all provide a fun, engaging way to master the content. For my 9th grade students, making the content fun and engaging is the main relative advantage. From a teaching standpoint, the main advantage for me is being able to easily show students how the content relates to the real world.
